In line with common observations, research has shown that music and literacy are directly related. Going beyond the recognition that children appear to be wired for music and dance, scientists have shown that music and literacy are connected by the same neural and cognitive mechanisms.
The research suggests that literacy can be improved with musical training in childhood, as earlier research has indicated.
