Electricity increases the speed of learning motor skills

At school I remember teachers telling us to put on our "thinking caps". New research could bring new meaning to the expression. Imagine being able to learn faster by wearing an electrical learning cap that stimulated the brain, accelerating your ability to reach your best. Learning to drive or play piano would be speeded up dramatically using a low-cost device available in your local electronics store.

Experiments have shown that applying a small electrical current to the motor cortex of the brain can increase the speed of learning motor skills. There's hope that the same method can be applied to other areas of the brain to increase educational learning and the low cost of the technology means that home kits could be available in the future.
