The demon drink

Drink. Ever notice how you're not yourself the next day after a few? "Not yourself" being an understatement, but what does it constitute? An inability to think, to concentrate and to learn. So no big shock that the latest research shows that even moderate drinking leads to a 40% reduction in new brain cells. Disappointing for those of us who like to partake in a few tipples, and interesting in the light of other research that indicates that those of supposed higher intelligence tend to drink more. So perhaps drink has a democratizing, levelling effect - bringing us all down (or up) to the same level. I wonder what would happen if we all gave it up?
